Bob Mulligan completed a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts in Philosophy, at Roosevelt University in Chicago. He started his career in astrology while in graduate school. In 1974 Bob founded his business, The Astrology Company, and has been a full time professional astrologer since then.
Bob operates a correspondence school with a four year program in training called THE MASTERY OF ASTROLOGY. Further, he has written astrological software for computers including a comprehensive chart interpretation program called INDRA. Bob travels continuously and has clients and students around the world. He operates a regular local astrology practice in five cities in the United States: New York, Atlanta, Louisville KY, San Diego and Naples, FL. He has written and lectured extensively. Today he writes a regular astrology column about the current astrological configurations. He also writes for The Career Astrologer, the magazine for professional astrologers. Since 1989, Bob has been actively involved in the formation and operation of OPA, the Organization for Professional Astrology, and has served on the Board as both President (currently) and Conference Coordinator. He takes an active role in the peer supervision network, and consults with new astrologers on the growth and development of their practices. He speaks nationally at OPA, NCGR, and ISAR conferences. Bob’s professional affiliations include the National Council for Geocosmic Research (NCGR), Association for Astrological Networking (AFAN) and the Astrological Association of Great Britain. Bob has developed the idea that astrology itself can be used as a form of therapy. The details of the systematic approach to working with the mind/body/emotions of clients has been detailed out in a systematic and instructional book called The Language of the Unconscious. He has also written Between Astrologers and Clients, a book describing how issues specific to this relationship become the foundation of the astrology work. In
addition to his extensive travel and the responsibilities involved in operating an astrology service, Bob attends at least one continuing educational event per year. Bob has been a resident of Naples, FL since 1981 and travels frequently to India as he has been a follower of Meher Baba since 1970.
